Catherine, the founder and designer of La Petite Chose sleep sacks, is American and French and was working in France as a product designer when her children were born. As a new mother, she discovered the traditional French sleeping sack, called a 'gigoteuse'. In her house it quickly became essential, key to her babies' sleep. When her family moved back to Seattle, Catherine was amazed to find that a truly well-made, cozy, organic cotton sleep sack wasn't available to American mamas and papas. Catherine started La Petite Chose to create reliable, sustainable, safe, and beautiful sleep sacks that are made to last.
La Petite Chose sleep sacks are thoughtfully designed, functional, and made only from the highest quality safe and sustainable fabrics, which are certified free of flame retardants, lead, chemical dyes, and phthalates. Their sleep sacks are rigorously tested in an independent lab to meet or exceed CPSC quality, flammability, and safety standards for infant garments. La Petite Chose manufactures with a small, family-run company in India who pioneered sustainable, organic cottons there. The do everything in-house including knitting the organic cotton jersey, fabric printing with eco-friendly non-toxic dyes, embroidering, sewing, and even silk printing on the reusable packaging bag.
