Why it's useful
Beanies protect your baby's scalp from the sun and keep the baby warm in the winter.
Thicker winter hats can keep your baby warm when it's especially cold remember that babies lose a lot of heat from their heads!
Note that beanies or hats should NOT be worn to sleep to avoid the risk of overheating.
What to consider
Material Safety
GOTS or OEKO-TEX certification: We recommend GOTS or OEKO-TEX certified beanies/hats made from natural materials to minimize the risk of dermal exposure to harsh chemicals. Read more here.
Important! We recommend pre-washing all textile baby items before using to minimize the chance that any residual chemicals or packing dust don’t irritate your baby’s skin.
Size
Make sure to choose the appropriate size. Babies’ heads change size significantly during the first year; look for hats that stay on without being too tight.
How many to get
You only need 1-2 hats depending on the climate(s) you live in/will be visiting.
