Why it's useful
Burp cloths can be used to protect your clothes or shoulders from spit up when burping your baby and for wiping any spit-up and drool that got somewhere it shouldn’t -- like your baby, you, your couch… the list goes on. They are especially great to have on hand in your baby’s first months.
What to consider
Material Safety
GOTS or OEKO-TEX certification: We only carry GOTS or OEKO-TEX certified burp cloths made from natural materials to minimize the risk of dermal exposure to harsh chemicals. Read more here.
Important! We recommend pre-washing all textile baby items before using to minimize the chance that any residual chemicals or packing dust don’t irritate your baby’s skin.
Practicality
Thickness: Thick enough that drool, spit up, and other miscellaneous liquids doesn’t go through and get on your clothes.
Absorbency: Absorbent enough to easily wipe off drool and spit-up from wherever it landed.
Size: Covers your shoulder and part of your back easily.
Design
Have fun with designs! You’ll be seeing them a lot, so you might as well add a little fun to cleaning up drool :)
How many to get
Get 10-15 burp cloths if you plan to do laundry once a week; they get messy quickly.
