Night gowns are nice alternatives to sleepers and onesies for the first three months.
Night gowns are very practical for diaper changes. They have an opening at the bottom so you can lift up the gown without undressing your baby completely.
There's no zipper or snaps or magnets to undo during every diaper change - hurray!
Night gowns are not as practical as your baby gets older and starts moving around. But for those newborn months, they can make your life easier.
What to consider
If you choose to use a night gown for sleep, buy 1 per day or 7 total if you do laundry once a week.
You still want to have some onesies, sleepers, or other day clothes ready, since night gowns are not very practical for strollers or car seats.
Just like onesies, choose a night gown with side snaps or front snaps so the neck opens very wide and you can dress your baby easily.
Do not purchase any night gowns with drawstrings, as they can be a potential hazard to your baby.
If you would like to maximize the quality and minimize the chance of chemicals on your baby's clothes, we suggest getting night gowns that are GOTS or OEKO-TEX certified.
