Why it's useful

Burp cloths can be used to protect your clothes or shoulders from spit up when burping your baby and for wiping any spit-up and drool that got somewhere it shouldn’t -- like your baby, you, your couch… the list goes on. They are especially great to have on hand in your baby’s first months.

What to consider

Material Safety

  • GOTS or OEKO-TEX certification: We only carry GOTS or OEKO-TEX certified burp cloths made from natural materials to minimize the risk of dermal exposure to harsh chemicals. Read more here
  • Important! We recommend pre-washing all textile baby items before using to minimize the chance that any residual chemicals or packing dust don’t irritate your baby’s skin.

Practicality

  • Thickness: Thick enough that drool, spit up, and other miscellaneous liquids doesn’t go through and get on your clothes.
  • Absorbency: Absorbent enough to easily wipe off drool and spit-up from wherever it landed.
  • Size: Covers your shoulder and part of your back easily.

Design

Have fun with designs! You’ll be seeing them a lot, so you might as well add a little fun to cleaning up drool :)

How many to get

Get 10-15 burp cloths if you plan to do laundry once a week; they get messy quickly.
